I had actually gotten these for use as an experiment to place homemade body butter in, but the size will be more suitable for a lip balm. These are some nice aluminim tins quite suitable for DIY projects. the 24 pack came in a handy little plastic case with small labels. The tins are sturdy and twist to open. They make attractive little pill cases and storage tins. not a bad price for these good quality tins.

I make a waxless lip oil, using various oils and ceytl alcohol, and I use this type of half ounce tin to package them up. This is a standard, screw top, half ounce tins, suitable for packaging things like eye creams and lip balms, and other non-liquid cosmetics that you DIY. I tend to make 4-6 ounces of product at a time, and I give them to friends. Since I use anywhere from 8-12 tins in a batch, a case of 24 lasts me a couple of batches. These tins are a little more expensive than the ones I typically buy, but the advantage is it gives me a place to store and transport my finished product, and as it holds standard sized tins, I can refill it as I give away and make new product. And non-silver tins always cost a few cents more each.Now over the past year or so, I've purchased dozens of this type of tin, usually without the case. Inevitably, when you get tins packed loosely in a box, you find a dented can or two in the batch. Because these tins are packaged in a plastic storage box, every single one arrives pristine. These tins also seal tightly. They do not leak, but I still wouldn't recommend using them for straight liquid. They are great for creams, balms, and anything not prone to sloshing as you twist off the lid. This half ounce size is nice, as it is small, compact, and easily fits in a pocket.This set also comes in an unsealed cellophane bag with the sealing strip intact, so you can potentially use it to seal the whole box of filled tins later on. It also comes with a smaller bag of the same type, which you can use to package 4 -6 filled tins. Finally, it comes with a sheet of labels for identifying the contents of each tin. The whole shebang comes in a nice, flap-top box, something you can also save to use again in the future or to package a "finished product" made with the contents of this set.If you are in need of a plastic box that can be used for storage or display, it is worth the extra few cents more you're paying per tin to get that bonus. This is a nice set of high quality half ounce tins, available in a choice of colors, and packaged in a nice box that would make a great display for finished products at any craft fair or farmer's market. I will likely be repurchasing these tins in a second color, so I can easily identify which balms are tinted, and which are clear. Recommend.

These little tins are great. They're simple, comes in a plastic box and a sheet of label stickers that you can use the mark the contents of the tins. They're very light as well so there's barely any weight to them. :I did accidentally drop one from bed height to the carpeted ground and was surprised that it was already showing scratches on the lid. These aluminum tins with screw lids and a clear storage case are really versatile. I got them to carry medication in and they work quite well for that. For smaller pills, I found I need to put something in the container with the medication to keep the pills from bouncing around. The silica packs that come with some gel capsules work great for that.The lids screw on tightly so I don’t have to worry about the containers coming open in my pocket. I love the clear container to keep the small containers in. I only need two of the 24 containers for medicine so far. I will use some of the rest for beads and other craft supplies, and the bigger container will be great for keeping them all together.This comes with labels you can write on and stick on the round containers. I don’t like my handwriting, so I used a label maker and there was plenty of room on the small containers for two short lines of text.The only negative thing I noticed was that after about 3 weeks of carrying one of the containers around in my coat pocket, some of the black paint came off the container. I didn’t take a star off for the paint. I think that is to be expected, especially since my keys were probably bouncing against it a lot of the time. I had no problem with the ones I used for beads. The containers themselves seem to be good quality.At $16.99 (as of February 2026), I think this set of containers is a good value for the money. I will continue to use them for a variety of purposes for a long time.

I love that they are metal vs plastic. They were very well packaged and include a plastic storage container which could be reused once all of the tins have been used. They also come with some labels although I don't know that I'd use them in these, but you might. They di have the little foam circle pieces in each lid to make a nice seal when the lids are screwed on. These will be perfect for lip balms and putting thicker products in for travel. Pills or other tiny items needed in a purse or emergency kit. I would definitely recommend.
